One more for the card. We’re coming up on the Royal Rumble but at the same time we’re coming up on the 2019 Royal Rumble, we’re also coming up on what is likely to be a more anticipated show for some fans with NXT Takeover: Phoenix. Since the show is going to be a little bit shorter, the card has fewer spots to fill in and with the addition of a new match, we might know the full lineup.

As announced on WWE.com, Matt Riddle vs. Kassius Ohno has been added to the Takeover: Phoenix card. This is the fifth match on the show and likely the last to be added. Riddle and Ohno have fought twice before with Riddle winning the first in six seconds and the rematch as well. Ohno attacked him after the second match after offering Riddle congratulations for defeating him.

Here is the current card:

NXT Title: Tommaso Ciampa(c) vs. Aleister Black
North American Title: Ricochet(c) vs. Johnny Gargano
Tag Team Titles: Undisputed Era(c) vs. War Raiders
Women’s Title: Shayna Baszler(c) vs. Bianca Belair
Matt Riddle vs. Kassius Ohno

Here’s how it all continued. Check out their second, and longer, match:

Matt Riddle vs. Kassius Ohno: WWE NXT, Jan. 2, 2019

Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise in the world, though I’m a bit surprised that they didn’t go with Velveteen Dream vs. Adam Cole instead. The important thing here though is to give Riddle a longer match on Takeover as a showcase because Riddle could be a huge deal both in NXT or on the main roster. Just let them have a good match with Riddle winning and Ohno possibly heading off to somewhere new, as there isn’t much left for him in NXT.
