New Match Added to “Takeover: Brooklyn III”, Updated Card

One more never hurt anyone. We’re less than ten days away from “Takeover: Brooklyn” and most of the card is already set in stone. Normally these shows have five matches and that means we came into this week sitting one match short. Now though, that spot has been filled by an interesting match.

According to WWE.com, Andrade Cien Almas will be facing Johnny Gargano at the show. This is the result of an open challenge issued by Gargano on this week’s episode of “NXT”. After Almas won in the main event, his valet Zelina Vega said that if Gargano was still interested, Almas would meet him in Brooklyn. The match was made official the following day.

NXT Title: Bobby Roode(c) vs. Drew McIntyre
NXT Tag Team Titles: Authors of Pain(c) vs. Sanity
NXT Women’s Title: Asuka(c) vs. Ember Moon
Johnny Gargano vs. Andrade Cien Almas
Aleister Black vs. Hideo Itami

Opinion: This works just fine. They’re both interesting and currently hot characters with Vega being the shot in the arm that Almas needed. It’s one of those matches where either of them could win and those are often the best kind. Gargano needs to establish himself as a singles wrestler and Almas needs a big win to get back to speed. I’m curious to see which way they’ll go but either is possible.
