It’s a rather serious subject. Wrestling is a form of entertainment built on stories, which can be of any kind. Any given wrestling show can consist of action, drama, romance, comedy, suspense or a combination of almost any of them. However, there are some stories in wrestling that take place outside of the ring and they can be a lot more serious in a rather bad way.

Earlier this month, the second season of Dark Side of the Ring was announced. The returning series looks at various stories from the wrestling world, with most of them being more tragic than anything else. There are several different episodes set for the second season, with one of them being about the Chris Benoit murder/suicide. However, the show won’t be alone in discussing the whole incident.

The Reelz cable network has announced that they will air a special documentary on Benoit, airing on Sunday March 15 at 8PM EST. The special will be part of their Autopsy series, which looks at various deaths in the entertainment industry. The show will look at Benoit’s life and the incidents that led to the deaths of Benoit’s family and Benoit himself. Autopsy has looked at the wrestling industry before, including a special on Chyna in 2019.

You aren’t going to see any Benoit on WWE’s YouTube so we’ll try something else. Check out some of WWE’s documentaries:

Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised by this as the Benoit situation is one of the most tragic moments that wrestling has ever seen. It is something that every wrestling fan has at least heard of and for the first time, it is getting some attention in this form. I’m curious to see where these specials go, as the Benoit case is something that has quite a few directions, all of which can be fascinating in a good and bad way.

What do you expect from the documentaries? Which will be better? Let us know in the comments below.
