Can you blame them for wanting to leave? One of the biggest problems for wrestling in the Coronavirus era has been the smaller promotions losing talent. With companies not being able to run events, there is nothing to keep the wrestlers around and some of them have been appearing elsewhere. That is permanent in some cases, and in one promotion, it might not be all that surprising.

The NWA has come a long way in just a short amount of time. Less than a year ago, the promotion was a complete joke and afterthought with few even remembering that it existed. Things turned around in a big way when their Powerrr series debuted, though the show has been shut down over the Coronavirus concerns. Some of their wrestlers have since appeared elsewhere and we might have an idea of why.

Fightful Select is reporting some details on the value of contracts offered to two wrestlers who have either left the company or are on their way out. Ricky Starks, who has since signed with AEW, was offered $1000 a month but passed on the deal. Television Champion Zicky Dice was offered $250 a month but turned it down as well. Dice is still with the promotion, though is reported to be leaving before the end of the year.

They’re both good to have around. Check out Starks and Dice in action:

Opinion: One important detail to note is that these numbers are likely per taping cycle, meaning for a few days’ work rather than a regular salary over the course of a month. While the numbers might sound low in general, they are not likely to be as bad as they seem. I’m not sure how many wrestlers would take the NWA up on such offers, but there are worse options out there for a few days’ work a month.

Will the NWA survive? Who will stick with the company? Let us know in the comments below.
