They wanted him. The WWE roster is incredibly deep when it comes to talent, to the point where the company is able to split it up into three different groups. On occasion those groups will exchange wrestlers, which can lead to some drastically different lineups. That is what one of the WWE’s broadcasters wanted to see happen but now we have an idea of what is going on.

On January 6, Monday Night Raw will be moving to Netflix. According to Fightful Select by way of Cagesideseats.com, Netflix “requested” that WWE Champion Cody Rhodes be moved to the Monday Night Raw roster. At the moment, there is nothing to suggest that Rhodes will be moving from SmackDown. Instead, Fightful speculated that Rhodes will simply appear on both shows.

Opinion: It shouldn’t be a surprise that Netflix would want Rhodes to be on their show as he is one of the biggest stars in WWE today. The show is going to have quite the level of star power and it would not stun me to see as many big names as possible added to the new platform. For now, Rhodes is likely going to be bouncing around between both shows, which hopefully WWE can make work.
