Move On: WWE Makes Major Change To Cody Rhodes’ Status

He’s over. There are so many talented wrestlers on the WWE roster that it can be difficult to keep track of them all. WWE has the wrestlers split up into three different rosters which can make for some major moments when one of them moves elsewhere. That is going to be the case later this month with the WWE Draft, but WWE has made one major move before we get there.

Back at WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns to win the WWE Universal Title. Rhodes, who had been a member of the Monday Night Raw roster before WrestleMania, mentioned that he was a SmackDown star. Since then, WWE has officially moved Rhodes to SmackDown, as referenced in his WWE.com profile. Rhodes is also listed as both the WWE and Universal Champion.

Opinion: This is the move that makes sense as there is little reason to not have Rhodes be on one show rather than the other. If Rhodes is going to be around on Monday Night Raw, he is going to overshadow anyone else there and that is not going to do Damian Priest and the World Heavyweight championship any good. Hopefully Rhodes does well on SmackDown and he is certainly going to have the chance.
