That’s awful. There are some WWE wrestlers who have been around longer than others for a variety of reasons. Maybe they are great in the ring or great talkers, but sometimes there is something that you cannot put down on paper. One of the best things a wrestler can be is dependable, and unfortunately one of the most dependable wrestlers WWE has is going to be gone for a long time.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Miz suffered a torn ACL during his lumberjack match against Damian Priest at WrestleMania Backlash over the weekend. The injury is believed to have taken place when Priest landed on Miz’s legs while coming off the top rope with a spinwheel kick. There is no word on if the injury is a partial or full tear. If it is a full tear, Miz would be out of action for seven to nine months, putting him back in action near the end of the year or at the beginning of 2022.
According to Fightful Select, WWE knew that something was wrong with Miz during his match as he did not seem to be right. However, it was not believed to be as severe of an injury as it appears to be. Miz finished the match and was praised for getting to the ending with no major troubles. This is Miz’s first major injury of any kind in WWE since his debut back in 2005.
Miz is kind of awesome. Check out the match, his great moments, and explaining why he is so great:
Opinion: I’ve been a Mizfit for a long time now and this is a shame to see. Miz has had an amazing track record of staying healthy and doing anything WWE asks of him. It is a shame to see him going on the shelf for so long in a match that really was kind of silly. The good thing is that Miz can be slotted back in as soon as he returns, which hopefully is a lot sooner than expected.
