Missing In Action: Speculation On Matt Riddle’s WWE Status

That’s longer than expected. There are certain reasons that a wrestler has to be taken off of television at times and some of them are a lot more serious than others. Occasionally it is due to a health reason that needs to be addressed, meaning they need to go away for the time being. That seemed to be the case with a WWE star last year, but now things are getting a bit more complicated.

Back in December 2022, Matt Riddle was written off of WWE TV by an attack at the hands of Solo Sikoa. This was reportedly done due to Riddle failing a drug test and entering rehab. Shortly after Riddle’s injury was announced on WWE TV, WWE said he would be out of action for six weeks, but over eleven weeks have passed since then. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there is no word on why WWE is not using Riddle. It was speculated that they might not have anything for him for Wrestlemania or that WWE did not want to “invest in him”. There is no word on when Riddle will be back on WWE TV.

Opinion: I’m not sure what is going on with WWE and Riddle, but there is a pretty big show coming up with the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania 39. If Riddle isn’t back by then, I’ll be much more likely to believe that there is serious doubt about WWE’s confidence in him. Riddle coming back on a night often built around returns would make sense, so there is certainly a hope for him yet.
