It was bound to happen. The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the wrestling world as we know it and that is likely to be the case for a very long time to come. Wrestling has spent over a year dealing with the problem and WWE has been right in the middle of the whole thing. The company has done what it can but there is no way to be entirely safe. That was the case this week and now we know a bit more.

Earlier this week, news broke that a Coronavirus outbreak has taken place in NXT. This is something that has happened before and the previous cases have caused some issues in WWE. That was the case this week as well, with several wrestlers missing television due to the outbreak. You could definitely notice some absences from the show, but now we know some more specific names who were missing.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, a group of wrestlers missed this week’s television show due to Coronavirus related issues. This does NOT mean that these people have tested positive, but that they were left off of the show for one reason or another. Names advertised for the show who did not appear in person includes Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Timothy Thatcher, Alexander Wolfe, Pete Dunne, Cameron Grimes, Leon Ruff and Isaiah Scott. In addition, Triple H was also in quarantine and did not run the show.

NXT did its thing in the circumstances. Check out how the show went:

Top 10 NXT moments: WWE Top 10, March 17, 2021

WALTER and Imperium decimate Tommaso Ciampa: WWE NXT, March 17, 2021

Io Shirai wants her match with Raquel González: WWE NXT, March 17, 2021

Opinion: This is the reality that we are in at the moment and that is not going to change for the time being. The virus is something that can spread from one person to another in a hurry and that can cause some serious problems. At the end of the day, I’m almost surprised that WWE has only had this many outbreaks, but thankfully things have not gotten a lot worse than they already have been.
