They might want to work on that. Wrestling has changed a lot over the years, and now there are things that are included which would have been unthinkable in previous generations. One of these things is a contract, which guarantees wrestlers pay and a spot on a roster. Now though, one such contract has expired, despite the fact that he is still a reigning champion.

Last week at Ring Of Honor Supercard of Honor, the Embassy successfully defended the Six Man Tag Team Titles against Metalik, Blake Christian and AR Fox. According to Fightful Select, Brian Cage of the Embassy is currently working without a contract, as his deal with AEW and Ring Of Honor expired at midnight the night of Supercard of Honor. While there is a long term AEW contract on the table for Cage, there is no word on his intentions. He is however currently a free agent and could appear anywhere he likes.

Cage has been a force in the two promotions. Check out some of his time there:

Opinion: This is an interesting situation but there is every chance that it will be taken care of before it gets anywhere that problematic. If nothing else, I’m not sure why Cage is still holding a title without a contract, as Jon Moxley was last year with the AEW World Title. While there is something to be said about going on good faith, there is also the risk of something going wrong and that could be a problem in a hurry.

What do you think of the situation? Where will Cage sign next? Let us know in the comments below.
