Everyone needs a break. There are all kinds of people involved in the wrestling business and several of them have nothing to do with getting in the ring. Those are the people who can do offer all kinds of things to a show, with some of them being important because of how familiar they are to the audience. Now though, one of the longest standing stars will be missing some time.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s Over: Title Officially Vacated This Week On AEW Dynamite

During a recent interview on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross announced that he was taking time off from AEW to let his leg heal. His doctors have told him that being away from airplanes for an unspecified amount of time will be good for his injured leg. There is no word on when Ross will return to television. He also mentioned that he had “a few months” left on his contract and said that AEW President Tony Khan wanted to bring him back.

Ross has been a nice addition to AEW. Check out some of his time in the promotion:

Opinion: It makes sense to have Ross around for as long as he wants to be, as there is definitely a place for him in AEW. I’m curious to see how he is used, but shifting him to the main event of Collision and major matches only is not a bad idea. Ross is better in limited spots and now AEW seems to be starting
