There certainly is a track record. For some reason, wrestlers have a decent record in running for political office. Jesse Ventura was famously the Mayor of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and then Governor of Minnesota while Kane is the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. The recent success has made another former wrestler run for office, though he might not be as well known.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, former Tough Enough contestant Daniel Rodimer is running for a House of Representatives seat in Nevada. Rodimer ran for State Senate last year in a losing effort. He appeared as part of the 2004 Tough Enough season (won by Daniel Puder with Mike Mizanin as the runner up) and wrestled in WWE developmental until 2007, when he quit the business.

Since Rodimer did not have the biggest wrestling career, we’ll have to look somewhere else. Check out his campaign ad for Nevada State Senate:

Opinion: I mean, why not? Wrestlers have an ability to talk and get people’s attention so maybe Rodimer can have some success with it. He has earned a law degree since leaving wrestling so he certainly has some intelligence behind his talking abilities. I have no idea if he is going to win or not but he is certainly trying to do something, so maybe it can work out for him.

Do you remember Rodimer? Will he win the election? Let us know in the comments below.
