Much ado about nothing? There are all kinds of things that come together to make a wrestling show work, some of which are more prominent than others. A weekly wrestling show features all kinds of pieces and some of them are going to get more time than others. That was the case again last week and it had some people wondering about things behind the scenes.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: No More: AEW Star Reportedly Gone From The Company
Last week’s SmackDown opened with Roman Reigns in Tribal Court by way of the Usos. The segment wound up running over thirty minutes and resulted in other segments on the show being cut. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the segment caused “concern” and “debate” backstage as it was seen as possibly being overkill. However, the second quarter of the segment wound up drawing over three million viewers, a high over the last several months.

Opinion: It makes sense that such a segment would cause some backstage issues as it resulted in a variety of changes throughout the show. That being said, the show drawing that kind of audience is going to make up for a lot of problems. WWE can point to that three million as proof of what they can do and that is exactly the kind of thing that they love to have.
