He would know. WrestleMania is the biggest and most important wrestling show of the year and as a result, WWE likes to pull out all the stops to get its fans invested in what is going on. That can involve a variety of methods, including bringing back big names for special appearances. Some of these go better than others, but in this case, it seems that something was never planned in the first place.

Prior to WrestleMania 39, there were rumors of Gangrel making an appearance for a Brood reunion with former teammate Edge, who was facing Finn Balor inside Hell In A Cell. However, during an appearance on the Ten Count podcast, Gangrel said that he never heard about the idea, though he said it might have been pitched. Gangrel called Edge about the rumors and was told “they think they know everything.” Edge went on to win the match.

Opinion: This is something that makes sense, as there are all kinds of stories that come out before WrestleMania that wind up having little to no basis in reality. As Gangrel said, there is a chance that it was pitched but nothing ever came of it. What matters is that the match wound up working and Gangrel seems to be on good terms with WWE, so maybe he could be back in the future.
