Maybe Later: Update On Lacey Evans' WWE Status Following SmackDown Appearance

Just a one off. With so many talented wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be difficult to find a way to get to the next level. Wrestlers can appear on television on a fairly frequent basis but it does not mean that they are going to be moving up the ladder. Occasionally someone will just make an appearance that does not lead anywhere, which seems to be the case again with a SmackDown star.

Last week on SmackDown, Lacey Evans wrestled her first televised match since March, losing to Zelina Vega in a Money In The Bank qualifying match. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, this is not the start of a push for Evans, who is still seen as a low level heel on the roster. Evans appeared in a Marine Corps hat, tying into her background as a member of the Corps.

Opinion: I’m not exactly surprised by this, as Evans is someone who has been moved up and down the roster over and over for years. It isn’t quite shocking that she was brought back in for a one off match, as WWE does not seem interested in pushing Evans no matter what. Maybe that will change at some point in the future, but it does not seem to be taking place anytime soon.
