It makes sense in a way. Managers can be one of the most important parts of any wrestler’s career. If you have the right one, your career can go a long way in a short while as the pairing just meshes perfectly. This doesn’t happen too often, but there are times when it works out as well as possible. That was almost the case again and the two people working together sounds great.

Odds are you’ve heard of Kurt Angle, who has perhaps the most impressive amateur background in the history of professional wrestling. That sort of resume gives you a certain reputation and almost no one else is ever going to be able to approach it. Therefore it would make sense to have Angle associate with other stars, and that was nearly the situation with a new star.

Angle recently spoke to CBR.com and revealed that WWE wanted him to manage Matt Riddle on the main roster. However, Angle was forced to turn the offer down due to a variety of unspecified reasons. Angle did referee Riddle’s last match in NXT and introduced him on SmackDown. When asked if there was a possibility of the two working together in the future, Angle laughed and said there was a chance.

It does sort of fit. Check out Angle introducing Riddle:

Opinion: I understand the thinking here, but does Riddle need a manager? Riddle can already talk and has the UFC background firmly in place. It’s a nice idea, but it doesn’t seem to be something that is exactly necessary. Maybe the two can have a segment down the road or something, though I can’t imagine any kind of a formal partnership. It just doesn’t need to be there.

Do you like the idea of the pairing? How will Riddle do on the main roster? Let us know in the comments below.
