That’s a date. Retirement is one of the most complicated topics in all of wrestling as you never know when you are going to see someone walk away from the ring for good. There is always the chance that someone is going to want to stay in the ring for a long time, but many of them will hang up their boots on a regular basis first. That is the case with one of the biggest stars in WWE today.

WWE Champion Cody Rhodes appeared on the 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast and spoke about his retirement plans. Rhodes, 39 years old, said that he planned to retire from full time in-ring competition by the time he is 45. He did however say that he would be open to continue wrestling on an occasional basis for the sake of staying in shape. Rhodes had previously said that he wanted to retire to be able to spend more time with his daughter.

Opinion: This is where things can get interesting as everyone has to retire at some point. Rhodes is one of the most talented wrestlers going today and it is going to be a big hit to WWE when he goes away for good. For now though, WWE has something special with him and it makes sense that the company is featuring him in such a role. He really is that talented, but at some point he is going to have to think about hanging it up, which apparently he is already doing.
