That’s terrifying. Wrestling is built around the idea of making fans believe that what they are seeing is real. That can be quite the trick as fans are almost always going to know that what they are seeing might not be on the up and up. It is a wrestler’s job to convince them otherwise, and sometimes that can go a little too far. This time though, it seems that it almost went beyond way too far and into something a lot more serious.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that a man was arrested for breaking into Sonya Deville’s house in an attempt to kidnap her. The man, Phillip A. Thomas II, came to her home and broke in around 2:45am. Deville’s security alarm went off and she and someone else ran out of the house and drove away before calling 911. Thomas was found with a knife, zip ties, duct tape and mace and was arrested. He is now being held without bail.

Thomas had stalked Deville on social media for years and had commented on stories about her, but had never met her nor knew her personally. He had been planning the kidnapping for eight months. According to the Hillsborough Count Sheriff’s Department, he had driven from South Carolina to Deville’s home in Lutz, Florida, which is about a seven hour drive. There is no word on what Thomas’ exact motive for the kidnapping attempt.

? SCARY! This man, Phillip A. Thomas II, broke into a home in Lutz. He was carrying a knife, plastic zip ties, duct…

I think we need something a little happier. Check out some of Deville’s better WWE moments:

Opinion: That’s about as terrifying as you can get and thankfully it had as happy of an ending as it did. Someone willing to spend the better part of a year planning something like this and then drive all that way with something like this in mind needs to be locked up for a good while. Deville did nothing wrong in this situation and was almost in some very serious trouble. Thank goodness this went as well as it did, because that’s as scary of a situation as a wrestler has been in for a long time.

What do you think of Deville? How will her hair vs. hair match with Mandy Rose go? Let us know in the comments below.
