It’s never too early to plan ahead. We are coming up on Summerslam 2020, meaning that the end of summer is coming up fast. There are a lot of plans that need to be made for the show, but at the same time there are a lot more things to take care of beyond that point. That would include WrestleMania 37, which is scheduled to take place on March 28, 2021. WWE is already looking that far ahead.

One of the biggest stories of the year so far is Edge’s surprise return. After nearly nine years away from the ring, Edge returned at the Royal Rumble and even went on to defeat Randy Orton at WrestleMania 36. Orton went on to defeat Edge at Backlash in the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever, evening things up in their feud. That would seem to be the calling card for a trilogy match and that is exactly what we are likely to be getting.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a third match between Edge vs. Orton is planned for WrestleMania 37. The match would be an I Quit match, which was the planned stipulation for their scheduled match at Summerslam, though Edge’s torn tricep forced the match to be postponed. Edge is scheduled to be back near the end of the year, which would put him back in time for another match against Orton.

These two have fought before. Check out some of their time in the ring with each other:

Opinion: I liked their previous matches, but is this really the kind of feud that needs to span two WrestleManias? Even with the injury, I’m not sure if it was enough to span all the way from the Royal Rumble through Summerslam. Edge isn’t likely to be in the ring that much longer and having him face Orton exclusively is kind of a head scratcher. It should be good, but can we spread things out a bit?
