WOO….WHO? As you’ve probably heard by now, John Cena defeated AJ Styles to win his sixteenth World Title tonight, which means he’s tied Ric Flair for the most reigns by a champion in wrestling history. It was fairly likely that Flair was going to be associated with the win in some way…until those plans were changed.

According to PWInsider.com, Flair was indeed supposed to take part in Cena’s title celebration by appearing either in the ring or on the stage and wrapping the title around Cena’s waist. For reasons that aren’t clear, Flair did not appear on the show and Cena celebrated on his own. Flair did appear in a video on WWE’s YouTube page:

Honestly, I’m glad Cena got this moment to himself. Flair doesn’t need to be involved in everything and I have a bad feeling that the segment would have been more about him than Cena. WWE absolutely loves to praise Flair and that can get a bit tiresome at times. I’m fine if he comes out to praise Cena when he wins #17 but this should have been Cena’s moment.

What do you think of Cena winning the title? Should Flair have appeared? Let us know in the comments below.
