The card grows. We are on the Road To WrestleMania but there is another spot to cover on the way there. That would be Fastlane, though WWE has not exactly gone out of its way to build up the card. With less than a week before the show, there was not a single Monday Night Raw match announced for the card. They helped fix that in a big way during this week’s show.
One of the biggest feuds on Monday Night Raw at the moment has been the rivalry between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus. The two had been friends for twenty years but Sheamus turned on McIntyre for the chance to become WWE Champion again. This led to a pair of hard hitting, violent matches, the most recent of which ended in a draw. Now we have a chance to continue things.
This week on Monday Night Raw, McIntyre mentioned that he was facing Sheamus at Fastlane. This will mark their third match in less than a month with McIntyre winning the first and the second going to a draw when the two of them hit each other in the face with the ring steps. McIntyre has also been named as the challenger to Bobby Lashley for WrestleMania 37.
We’ve been here before. Check out how the previous matches went:
Opinion: I don’t think this one comes as any kind of a surprise, though I would have bet on some kind of a stipulation for the match. What matters is that it is a logical pay per view matches as you have two big names who have an issue to be fighting. That being said, it doesn’t quite mean as much when we have already seen it twice in less than a month. It should be good, but a little less frequency would help.
