They have to do something. The WWE pay per view schedule is usually set in stone months in advance, but we are not exactly living in normal times for the wrestling industry. You have to do something to shake things up at times, though this time around WWE is trying to do something incredibly different. That involves shaking up the pay per view schedule, and now we might know how it will be set up.

We are a week away from Summerslam, which means that we are two weeks away from Payback. That makes for an interesting change of pace as we are looking at two pay per views in back to back weeks. WWE will occasionally have two weeks between shows but a single week is a fast turnaround even for them. They will need something to make that work and it could be a smart idea.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE may be planning a cliffhanger ending to a major match at Summerslam to carry over into Payback the following week. It is not clear which match that will be, but it will likely be one of the bigger matches on the show, including one of the World Title matches. Therefore, the rematch could be set up immediately without a need for extra work.

There could be some big rematches. Check out what might be taking place twice in two weeks:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that WWE is going to have to do because there are only so many ways to set up a pay per view in a single week. WWE does not have the biggest list of options so this is as good as they are going to be able to do. The Payback name would suggest that the shows are going to be built around the idea of rematches or revenge, so this is the most logical idea that they have.

What do you expect from Summerslam? Which match will have the cliffhanger? Let us know in the comments below.
