LOOK: WWE Unveils Brand New Titles, Renames Championships

They’re new. Titles are some of the most important things that you can have in wrestling as they are clear symbols of the top names in the company. Fans understand that seeing wrestlers holding championships are the people they should focus on and it can make a big difference when someone wins a new title. In this case, some wrestlers who are already champions are getting new belts.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: One Down: WWE Officially Announces First Match For Backlash

This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE CCO Officer Triple H and General Manager Adam Pearce revealed new Tag Team Title belts. The reigning champions, the Awesome Truth, had previous been known as the Raw Tag Team Champions but are now officially the World Tag Team Champions. The titles feature new designs and different colors, with gold plates. There is no word on if or when the SmackDown Tag Team Titles will be changed as well.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that happens every so often and it is great to see some fresh designs. The titles going from silver to gold is a nice change and I could go for seeing what else WWE does going forward. Sometimes you need something new and that is what we are getting with these belts. The new name is a nice addition as well as WWE continues to change things around on a regular basis.
