They’re still at it. With so much going on during any given WWE event, it makes sense that there are several champions and title matches taking place. Fans are going to understand the idea of wrestlers fighting for a shiny championship, some of which have been around for a very long time. This week though, not only was a new design introduced, but a new championship as well.
This week’s SmackDown featured a ceremony for Raw Women’s Champion Asuka, who was presented with a new championship belt. However, this was not a newly designed Raw Women’s Title, but rather the new WWE Women’s Title. The name change comes as both Asuka and SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley have been drafted to brands opposite of their respective brands. Ripley’s championship has yet to be changed. Here is the new title:

Opinion: This solves a lot of the problems that comes with the Draft, as the annual swapping of titles never felt like the most logical way to go. It’s nice to see WWE changing things in a way that makes sense, though I’m not sure what they could could the other women’s title without going to far. For now though, this is a step in the right direction as WWE cleans up a bit of a problem.
