New generation. Professional wrestling is like any other sport in that at some point it has to produce new stars to replace the older generations. Those new stars can come from a variety of places, including other sports. Every so often you will see someone start a new career in wrestling while already having a connection to some other sport, which is double the case this time.

According to Fightful Select, Elijah Holyfield, the son of former world heavyweight champion boxer Evander Holyfield, made his in-ring debut during this week’s taping of WWE Legends & Future Greats (WWE LFG). There is no word on who Elijah faced or when the show will air on television. Elijah is a former football player at the University of Georgia and signed with WWE earlier this year.

Opinion: While it is just a few photos, Elijah certainly looks like he could have a hot start. He looks like someone who could get some attention in a hurry, but he is going to need to do a lot more than look like a star to make his career work. For now though, he already has a foot in the door and I’m sure that WWE is going to be interesting to see what they can do with someone with his background and lineage.
