That would be big. One of the most talked about stories of the year has been CM Punk’s issues with AEW, ultimately resulting him him being fired from the company. This has led to fans wondering what could be next for Punk, with multiple promotions reportedly being interested in bringing him in. Now we might have and idea of what Punk wants to do and it could be a huge moment.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Punk is said to be in talks for a return to WWE, though no deal has been made thus far. Sources close to Punk say that negotiations are ongoing and returning to WWE is “his intention”. While there are no details on when (or if) he will return, Survivor Series is set for Punk’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois on November 26. Punk has not wrestled or appeared for WWE since the 2014 Royal Rumble.

Opinion: While this is something that I’ll only believe when I see him walk through the curtain, the idea of Punk returning to WWE would be a fascinating moment. Punk had such a messy relationship with WWE in the first place and then it is made even more complicated with the AEW debacle. It could be interesting to see him wrap everything up with WWE, assuming this winds up happening.
