LOOK: Brock Lesnar "Recreates" Personal Beatdown Almost 20 Years Later

Call it a flashback? There are certain wrestlers who are able to stick around WWE for a very long time. Those are the stars who have often made some of the biggest impacts the company has ever seen and having them around can be a big deal. It can also be a cool moment to see something you might remember from years past and that was the case this week on Monday Night Raw.

This week’s Monday Night Raw opened with Cody Rhodes challenging Brock Lesnar to face him in a third match next month at Summerslam. Lesnar attacked Rhodes and accepted the challenge for the match, despite Rhodes’ mother being in the front row. This is similar to how Lesnar attacked Zach Gowen in front of Gowen’s mother on the August 21, 2003 SmackDown.

Opinion: I’m not sure if you call this an homage or a repeat, but I would think that just shy of twenty years is long enough to do something twice. What matters is Lesnar looked like a monster, which is what he does as well as anyone else. Having Rhodes’ mother there made it all the more interesting and we should be in for one heck of a showdown next month when the two face off.
