That’s a long time. Wrestling is a dangerous sport as you can see someone with all of the experience and skill in the world get taken down in the blink of an eye. Someone doing the most basic of moves can result in them going on the shelf for a very long time and that seems to be the case again. This time around it is someone with a long history on TV, but something has gone rather wrong.

Back at AEW’s Blood & Guts, Santana hit a swinging suplex but injured his knee in the process. Santana was pulled from the rest of the match and did not celebrate with the winning team. According to Chris Jericho on the True Geordie Podcast, Santana injury will keep him out of action for eight months. There is no word on the specific details of Santana’s injuries.

Opinion: That is one of the most amazing and at the same time sad things about wrestling: someone can be doing a basic move and suffer a horrible injury, even if it is during a wild match like Blood & Guts. You never want to see someone suffer a major injury like his as Santana is going to be out of the ring for a very long time. Hopefully he can get back faster, but dang that is a hard thing to see.

What do you want to see from Santana? What is the weirdest wrestling injury you have ever seen? Let us know in the comments below.
