Two down at once? Wrestlers have a weird career path as you never know how long one of them might last in the ring. Sometimes their careers last what feels like forever and some of them are far shorter than others. The interesting thing is you never know when someone might be hanging their boots up for good. As it turns out, we might have seen that happen tonight.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Heath Slater defeated Rhyno in a match where the loser would be fired from the show. Slater won the match in short order and kept a job while Rhyno was fired. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Rhyno announced his actual retirement to the live crowd during a commercial break. Slater wasn’t done for the night either, as General Manager Baron Corbin said that while he wouldn’t be wrestling anymore, he would have a job as a referee.

It’s quite the sad moment. Check out Rhyno’s last night on Monday Night Raw:

Fired Rhyno leaves Raw for the last time: Raw Exclusive, Dec. 3, 2018

And don’t forget about Slater. Here’s how he got his new job:

Heath Slater becomes a referee: Raw, Dec. 3, 2018

Opinion: I don’t know if this is really it for Rhyno, but forty three years old, he wasn’t going to be around much longer anyway. If he wanted to leave on his back like that, good for him and hopefully he gets to do whatever he wants now. Rhyno was a good talent and someone who could play a solid role, which is an important job to have. If nothing else, he could hit a heck of a Gore.

What did you think of Rhyno? How will Slater do as a referee? Let us know in the comments below.
