So he’s running out of time. In wrestling, everyone has to retire at some point. Some of them get to go out when they want to and others are forced out when they have no choice. Either way, everyone has to leave the ring at some point and it can become a bit of a problem to figure out when to get out. In one case though, a big name wrestler knows when he wants out.

In a new interview with the Strait Times (a Singapore newspaper), Shinsuke Nakamura has said that he wants to wrestle for at least five more years. Nakamura, 39 years old, cited Japanese baseball legend Ichiro Suzuki, who retired at 45 years old, as his inspiration, saying that it gave him five more years in the ring at minimum. Nakamura has not wrestled on television since April 23.

In case you needed a reminder. Check out a Nakamura match from earlier this year:

Opinion: Good for him and I can’t imagine him hanging the boots up anytime soon. Nakamura’s time in WWE hasn’t been the most successful, though he hasn’t come close to being a flop either. Hopefully he gets another chance to shine in WWE soon, as he certainly deserves a shot to see what he can do. It’s not like what everyone else is doing is working at the moment.
