During an appearance on Barstool Rasslin, former WWE star Matt Cardona (formerly known as Zack Ryder) spoke about what it would take for him to return to WWE. Cardona said it would be “The two C’s”, meaning “cash and creative”, also mentioning that there is no amount of cash to make him return if the creative isn’t good. Cardona also said that Steph de Lander, who he has been working with on the independent circuit, would have to return with him. De Lander formerly appeared in NXT as Persia Pirotta and was released in April 2022. Cardona was released from WWE in April 2020 after a fifteen year run with the company.
