They fight outside the ring too. Wrestlers are going to do some things that get on each others’ nerves from time to time. It is something that happens to everyone at some point but in the case of public figures like wrestlers, these issues can be more amplified than others. That is the case again at the moment with one Hall of Famer and a recently released WWE name.
Back in April, Lio Rush was released from WWE. This comes after a series of issues between both sides, with Rush reportedly having backstage heat in the company and then publicly complaining about his lack of a push in WWE. That isn’t going to go well for a lot of names and now that he is gone, a lot of the filter that Rush had on him are gone. One WWE legend is not thrilled with what has been said.
Earlier this month on Busted Open Radio, Henry talked about how he took Rush aside and asked about issues he was having. Rush said that there were no issues, which was eventually revealed to be a lie. As a result, Rush sent out a series of tweets, complaining about not being able to call in to the show and about Henry bringing it up. Rush claimed that African American wrestlers are being held back as a result of Henry’s actions and statements.

Henry responded in a video to TMZ, saying that he was considering suing Rush for slander because “you can’t question my blackness.”. Henry said that of the twenty five or so African American wrestlers at the Performance Center, he helped about 80% of them get there. Rush would respond on Twitter, saying that he could sue Henry for “de faming” his name. Henry said it would be the last time they would communicate other than an apology, with Rush responding by saying that Henry didn’t know him and he was taught not to talk to strangers.

You probably mean(Defame)you have done that to yourself. Just own it and move on. This is the last time we communicate unless it’s for a apology. And by the way you’re welcome for me asking the company not to fire you a year ago. Tell your fans!@TheMarkHenry https://t.co/iPbuuP9U6T

This is just a mess. Check out how the two look in the ring rather than on Twitter:

Opinion: This is just such a mess and Rush is hardly coming off looking good here. Basically Rush did something he shouldn’t have, Henry called him out on it, and now Rush is trying to play the victim in the whole thing. Rush isn’t looking good here and while slander is a bit much, Henry has a bit more of a resume to fall back on than Rush does. Hopefully this blows over as this is a rather pathetic situation all around.
Who sounds more reasonable here? Where will Rush wind up next? Let us know in the comments below.
