It’s the next step. Wrestlers are in a weird situation when it comes to acting. When they are acting, they are called wrestlers and when they are wrestlers, they are said to be acting. That is not the easiest situation in the world to get out of but on occasion, they get the chance to branch out from just being in the ring. You have to start somewhere and now we know where that is going for one top WWE star.
Following her debut in July 2015 as part of the Women’s Revolution, Charlotte Flair has been one of the most successful stars in WWE. She has managed to win everything there is to win in WWE and has headlined both the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. This is a bit of a problem when you are only thirty four years old, meaning she needs a new challenge. Now we might know what that is.
According to Deadline Hollywood, Flair is scheduled to star in a remake of Walking Tall. The film will air on the USA Network as a television film with the chance of it being used to launch a new series. There is no word on when the film will be filmed or air. Flair will play a Tuscon, Arizona police officer who becomes a vigilante. The Rock starred in the first remake of the original 1973 film in 2004.
Flair has done well in WWE. Check out what she has done in the wrestling world:
Opinion: This is one of those hit or miss ideas and it is hard to imagine how things are going to go. Flair’s promos have worked well enough throughout the years, but I’m not sure if that is going to be enough to enough to carry a film. That being said, there have been some surprises when it comes to wrestlers getting in front of a movie camera before so maybe that is the case again here.
