We have room for another. Next week marks the biggest wrestling week of the year as WrestleMania week is upon us. This includes of course WrestleMania itself, but also a variety of other major wrestling shows. Two of the biggest will be the two nights of Takeover: Stand & Deliver, both of which have serious potential. Now that potential has grown even higher.

One of the biggest strengths that NXT has going for it is its international appeal. NXT has wrestlers from all over the world who wrestle a variety of styles, meaning that you can get a little bit of everything while watching the show. This can make for some very interesting combinations and after this week, we will be seeing another showdown with an interesting mixture.

A new match was added to Takeover Night One this week, as Pete Dunne vs. Kushida was confirmed for the card. This comes after Dunne and Kushida eliminated each other from a battle royal, meaning that neither would be in the Gauntlet Eliminator match. The two have also been yelling each other for weeks now but they have yet to actually meet in a singles match.

Both of them can do some great things. Check out the two in action:

Kushida answers Austin Theory’s open challenge: WWE NXT, Sept. 16, 2020

Pete Dunne vs. Jake Atlas: WWE NXT, March 10, 2021

Opinion: This is one of the areas where NXT shines. The match might not be the big show stealer, but the idea alone is enough to make me wonder how it might go. That kind of intrigue is a good thing and hopefully the match can live up to the hype. I have no reason to believe that it won’t due to the talent involved, but they already have me curious and that is a great thing.
