It’s quite the honor. There are all kinds of titles and championships that can be won in the wrestling world and some of them are a little more prestigious than others. However, at some point every title reign is going to end as wrestlers are either going to lose or get out of the ring, meaning there is a certain shelf life. There is one WWE honor which goes beyond a title reign though and someone might be receiving such an honor.
We are coming up on WrestleMania 37 weekend and that means things are going to get more interesting in a hurry. There are other things going on besides WrestleMania itself though, with the Hall of Fame induction ceremony being one of the bigger deals of the week. This year’s edition will be even bigger than usual with both the class of 2020 and 2021 being inducted at the same time. Now we might know another name for the 2021 class.
According to Fightful Select, Rob Van Dam will be part of the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2021. Van Dam debuted in WWE in 2001 and had multiple stints with the company. He won the WWE Title in 2006 before moving on to Impact Wrestling where he won the company’s World Title as well. Van Dam’s most recent WWE appearance came in 2019 as part of the Raw Reunion special. WWE has yet to announce the news.
Van Dam had a heck of a career. Check out some of his better moments:
Opinion: I don’t think there is much to disagree with here as Van Dam won all kinds of championships in WWE and was arguably even more successful elsewhere. I’m a bit surprised that he had not already been inducted, but maybe it is due to him working fairly regularly for so many years. Van Dam’s speech should be rather good, and it is a long overdue moment.
