Now that’s an indy match. As you’ve likely heard, Cody Rhodes has been all over the independent scene lately and wrestled all over the place. Some of his higher caliber matches have been against Kurt Angle, who is wrestling a very select schedule at the moment. As is the tradition in wrestling though, a rubber match needs to have a gimmick and that’s what’s going to happen at Northeast Wrestling on March 3.

According to the official Northeast Wrestling Twitter, Rhodes and Angle will be facing off in a steel cage match, which is quite the moment for an indy company. This is their third match with the two splitting the first matches. Rhodes has most recently been seen in TNA but there is no word on if he’ll still be with the company going forward.

I’d buy a ticket for this if it was nearby. When else are you going to see two bigger names like this in a major gimmick match? You don’t get to see cage matches too often and to have one of the best of all time, especially when he’s almost at the end of his career and in such an intimate setting, makes it feel special.

Which of these two do you like better? Would you rather see them in a different gimmick match? Let us know in the comments below.
