That Kind Of Story: WWE Teases Using Real Life Relationship As Storyline

Art imitates life. There are all kinds of ways to present a wrestling storyline, but one of the most effective is to have something based in real life. It adds a different dimension to the story and that is something that you cannot manufacture most of the time. WWE does this on occasion and they seem to be doing it again with a storyline involving a pair of wrestlers on the same show.

This week on SmackDown, Emma congratulated Shotzi about becoming #1 contender to the SmackDown Women’s Title. Emma also asked if Shotzi had seen Madcap Moss, which made Shotzi believe Emma had a crush on him. This would suggest that WWE is hinting at a romance angle between Emma and Moss, who announced that they are a real life couple back in August.

Opinion: This is one of the ways to present a wrestling story and that is something that could work out very well. What matters is that WWE is trying to do something with two people who need a story. Maybe they can come up with an idea for both Emma and Moss as they are talented but don’t have much going on. If nothing else, there is already a layer of authenticity to the story and that should help them a lot.
