This was a big one. There are very few legends in wrestling today (or ever) on the level of Ric Flair. He is one of the most successful wrestlers of all time and certainly one of the best known, yet he is also seventy years old and not in the best of health. Earlier this year, Flair had some major procedures taken care of and now he has gone into details on what happened and how bad it was.

Flair recently appeared on Busted Open Radio to talk about his recent procedures and explain what happened to him. There were four total procedures, all related to Flair’s heart. The first made sure that there was no blockage and the second took care of an irregularity in Flair’s heartbeat. The third procedure was some repair work on his heart, but due to some issues involved in his recovery, the fourth procedure was required to fix everything up again. Flair also had a blood clot that had to be dealt with, which caused the delay in one of his procedures. He was very secretive about the procedures and did not even tell Charlotte.

Now that the procedures are over, Flair is allowed to go out but not exercise yet. He did however say that he is feeling better than he has in over ten years. Flair has also been able to go and do an autograph signing, though he is now going to be taking his time and letting it heal properly this time. There is no word on when Flair is going to be back to his regular schedule of appearances.

Flair has had some issues. Check out him discussing his previous health scare:

Opinion: I don’t know how Flair manages to keep surviving all of these things but there are some people you just can’t keep down. Flair has been around forever and somehow keeps managing to survive these horrible medical issues. I’m not sure how much longer he has left but the fact that he has made it this long is nothing short of remarkable. Hopefully that continues to be the case because it’s going to be devastating when he is gone.
