Keep Waiting: WWE Re-Signs Former Champion, Why He Hasn’t Appeared

They’ll figure it out. With so many talented wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be difficult to come up with something for everyone. It takes the right person being put in the right spot for everything to work out and that is easier said than done. Sometimes a wrestler will have to wait a good while to figure out where they belong and that seems to be the case again with a returning star.

Earlier this year, stories emerged that former Intercontinental and United States Champion Carlito was close to re-signing with WWE. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Carlito has in fact re-signed with the company but is waiting on WWE creative to come up with something for him. This has been the case with returning stars before, such as Davey Boy Smith Jr., who signed with WWE for a second time but never actually appeared before being released.

Opinion: Carlito returning to WWE would not be a surprise but creative having nothing for him does not bode well for his future. At some point Carlito is going to have to come back to TV and make an impact if he is going to stick around, but that can’t happen until WWE has something for him. Now we are stuck waiting, and given WWE’s track record, that could take a long time.
