They don’t have as many to pick from. In November, NXT showed that it was capable of hanging with and even defeating Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. There is a lot of talent on all of the rosters, but NXT has a special group of wrestlers who can do a lot of things in the ring. It isn’t just the Orlando crew though, as NXT UK is not only a real thing, but something that is going to be doing something special soon.

On January 11, NXT UK will present its third Takeover event with Blackpool II. The show is being built up like a traditional American Takeover with one major match after another. With so many things taking place on the show, you almost have to set things up early, which is where the weekly television show comes in. A pair of matches are now confirmed for the show and there will be gold on the line.

This week on NXT UK TV, two title matched were announced for Takeover: Blackpool II. First up was a triple threat match for the Women’s Title with champion Kay Lee Ray defending against Toni Storm and Piper Niven. At the end of the show, it was announced that Gallus will defend the Tag Team Titles against Mark Andrews/Flash Morgan Webster, Imperium and the Grizzled Young Veterans in a four way ladder match.

There was a lot going on. Check out how the ladder match was made and the immediate reaction:

Opinion: That is a pair of matches which should do a lot of good for the card. You have to build things up well there and the stories have been set up over the last few months. Rather than having the matches just thrown together for the sake of having all of the people on the card, these people have earned their way there and it makes quite a big difference overall.
