Join The Club? Cody Rhodes Reportedly Looking Into Hollywood Roles, Has Special Condition

It’s a different career. Wrestlers have tried their hands at acting over the years and the results have been quite mixed. There have been times where it has worked out and a new star is born, but there have also been times where it is little more than a one off which does not work and is best left unmentioned again. Now we have another WWE star who wants to try acting, but with some conditions.

According to Fightful Select, Cody Rhodes had some meetings in Hollywood over WrestleMania Weekend to look into potential acting roles. One potential role that Rhodes has shown interest in is Johnny Cage in an upcoming Mortal Kombat movie, though there is nothing to suggest that he is connected to the role in any way. In an update, Fightful Select also reported that Rhodes has no intention of being a part time wrestler. Any acting role would have to be worked around his WWE schedule. Rhodes has dabbled in acting over the years, including on Arrow and Warehouse 13.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that could work out well for Rhodes, as he has done enough acting before to have something to build off of going forward. There is a difference between acting occasionally and doing it full time, so Rhodes might be able to make this work. If nothing else, he will likely be in WWE for a long time to come so even if the acting doesn’t work, it should be just fine.
