That’s some pretty high praise. Wrestling fans are always going to debate certain things about the sport, which has been the case since wrestling began. You have done it, I have done it and everyone else has done it too. One of the most common topics is who the best in the world really is, which can get you some very interesting results. Now a fairly big name is weighing in.
There are certain voices in wrestling who you just recognize no matter what. In modern wrestling, there may not be a stronger voice than Jim Ross, who not only served as the voice of WWE for a very long time but also helped run the promotion for a good while. That gives him a fairly strong opinion on the wrestling world and now he has another thought on a pretty big name.
During a recent edition of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross was discussing the CM Punk vs. Randy Orton match at WrestleMania 27 and said that he sees Orton as the best in the world today. Ross said no one in WWE or anywhere else is as good as Orton, despite some of the controversies that follow Orton around. Orton recently defeated the Fiend at WrestleMania 37 and has once again set his sights on the WWE Title.
Ross might be on to something. Check out Orton’s better efforts:
Opinion: I know he has been around for a long time now and a lot of fans might be a little bit tired of him, but at the same time he has been on that level for so long for a reason. Orton really is one of the best wrestlers of all time and certainly has the resume to back it up. Despite being in his 40s, Orton can still go with the best of them, so hopefully he can be out there at this level for a long time to come.
