Oh this could be interesting. We’re less than two weeks away from the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony and in theory, the class is completely announced. That leaves the questions of who gets to induct the entrants and we might have just gotten the most interesting of them all.

As officially announced by WWE, Jim Cornette will induct the Rock N Roll Express into the Hall of Fame. The interesting part is Cornette’s attitude towards the company, as he’s done on some incredible rants about how much he feels they’ve destroyed wrestling over the years. This is Cornette’s first on-screen involvement with the company since 2005 when he left Ohio Valley Wrestling, then a WWE developmental territory.

Opinion: As a huge Cornette fan, I can’t say I’m not excited. While I don’t really think Cornette is going to say anything outlandish or insane, it’s going to be interesting to see what he can get away with saying. Cornette is someone who respects old wrestling and I can’t imagine he’s going to do anything to take the moment away from the Express. This is just about the perfect choice and it wouldn’t be right if almost anyone else did the induction.

Jim Cornette is injured in debut of scaffold match: This Week in WWE History, Nov. 27, 2016
