Not another one. The injury bug has been running rampant in WWE as of late with a variety of people being injured, both on the main roster and down in NXT. It’s been hitting everyone from lower level names like Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss to bigger names, but now it might have gotten to a current champion. While it’s not clear how bad it is, a current titleholder seems to have injured himself during a dark match after tonight’s SmackDown Live and 205 Live Tapings.

He walked into SmackDown just fine.

Jeff Hardy joins SmackDown LIVE: April 17, 2018

According to 411mania.com, United States Champion Jeff Hardy seemed to injure his leg or ankle on the way to the ring for the post show dark match against the Miz. The match took place but Hardy was noticeably limping throughout and was checked on by the doctor after the match. Hardy isn’t currently feuding with anyone and doesn’t have any upcoming title defenses, though he did lose a non-title match to Miz last week in a Money in the Bank qualifying match.

Opinion: Leg injuries are never a good sign and hopefully this one is nowhere near as bad as it might be. Hardy is starting to pick up some traction now that he’s back as a singles wrestler but at the same time, he keeps getting held back by one thing or another. Being able to work the match was a good sign, but by no means guarantees that he’s going to be ok long term. Hopefully he’ll be ok though and this is minor, because another loss would be a big hit to the roster.
