Off the market. The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works, as there is now another major promotion along with WWE. In recent months, AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm has been referencing former WWE Women’s Champion Wendi Richter. According to Fightful Select, Richter was considered for an appearance in AEW but it turns out that she is under a Legends Deal with WWE, which would not allow for such an appearance to take place. There is nothing to suggest that WWE would allow her to appear for AEW in any way.
She was rather awesome. Check out Richter in WWE:
Opinion: This is something that makes sense, as while it would have been awesome for Richter to actually show up, there is only so much that can be done if WWE has her under some kind of contract. Richter is someone who was a rather big deal in her time and it would make sense for AEW to want to bring her in for a cameo. At the same time, this is the point of such a contract, as at least she is receiving something from WWE to make up for the issue.
What do you think of the situation? How would Richter have done in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
