It’s an international thing. We are in a very new wrestling world these days as fans can see wrestling from anywhere they like, which will often include wrestlers appearing in different promotions in different countries. However, there are some promotions that do not get along whatsoever, and that is going to cause some problems at an upcoming major American event.

On June 25, AEW is scheduled to present Forbidden Door in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. However, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, several wrestlers will not be allowed to appear on the show. The show will involved wrestlers from New Japan Pro Wrestling, which has a working relationship with CMLL, meaning wrestlers who are associated with AAA, CMLL’s rival, will not be on the show. This includes wrestlers such as Bandido, El Hijo del Vikingo, Rush, Komander, the Lucha Bros, Andrade El Idolo and Dralistico.

Opinion: This is how international politics work in wrestling and there isn’t much else that can be done about it. As ridiculous as it sounds, there are going to be some people who don’t like others working with one group for their own reasons and that is what is happening here. It would be nice to see them work together down the line, but I don’t see that taking place anytime soon.
