International Incident? New Japan Pro Wrestling Star Challenges Cody Rhodes And Randy Orton

Bring it on? While WWE has long since dominated the professional wrestling landscape, there are several other wrestling companies throughout the world with some incredibly talented stars. These wrestlers will occasionally come over to WWE, but in this case we are seeing one of them challenging some major WWE Superstars for what could be quite the dream matches.

Over the weekend, New Japan Pro Wrestling star Gabe Kidd challenged both WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. Kidd challenged Rhodes to defend the WWE Title against him in the Tokyo Dome and challenged Orton to fight him anywhere. There is nothing to suggest that WWE is going to be working with New Japan, though they have had a working relationship in the past.

Opinion: There are times when a wrestler is trying to get attention and that might be what we are seeing again. While I cannot imagine seeing Rhodes or Orton seriously acknowledging this kind of a challenge, though today’s wrestling landscape has taught me to believe that anything is possible. For now though, I just can’t see it happening, but Kidd did do something to get himself some focus.
