Interesting Reason Why Ricky Starks Went To NXT Rather Than The WWE Main Roster

There’s a reason. Wrestlers move around from one promotion to another on a regular basis and it can be interesting to see what happens when someone goes somewhere else. This includes WWE, where there are different ways they can be brought in. That was the case earlier this week when a former AEW star made a WWE debut. Now we know why it took place the way it did.

Earlier this week, former AEW star Ricky Starks made his surprise debut on NXT. According to Fightful Select by way of Cagesideseats.com, Starks was put in NXT because the WWE’s plans are set for WrestleMania and NXT is seen as more “fluid” when it comes to bringing in another new star. Starks departed AEW earlier this year after not wrestling for the promotion since March 2024.

Opinion: This does make sense, and now the question is where Starks goes from here. It seems that he is going to be a part of NXT for the time being and it would not surprise me to see him do something special around there. If nothing else, it feels like he is ready to make a name for himself elsewhere from AEW, and that could be rather good to see for a lot of fans.
