He did it. Title changes can be a big deal for everyone involved. It can mean the end of a star’s run near the top of the card while also signaling another wrestler’s rise up the card. Occasionally there is a bit of a surprise detail behind the title change that makes things all the more interesting. That was the case again this weekend as some titles changed hands and now we know more about it.

Over the weekend at AEW Collision, Ricky Starks and Big Bill defeated FTR to win the AEW Tag Team Titles for the first time. According to Fightful Select, FTR’s Dax Harwood pushed for the nature of the title change, which saw FTR lose the titles in less than five minutes. It is not clear if Harwood pushed for the title change. In addition, FTR’s Cash Wheeler is said to be dealing with a rib injury, though it is unclear how long he will be out of action.

Opinion: The injury might not be the biggest surprise, though Harwood helping with the idea of the titles changing hands so fast is rather interesting. I’m curious to see what is next for FTR, as they are all but guaranteed to come after the titles again. It just might be a little while before we see that take place though, as Wheeler might need some time to heal up.
