Interesting Detail On Rock vs. Roman Reigns Plans, Seeds Planted Years Ago

In the planning stages. We are officially on the Road To WrestleMania 40 and that means WWE is going to be working overtime to get things set up for the biggest show of the year. There have been several matches rumored for the show but nothing has been officially set in stone thus far. One huge match was teased this week and now we know some more about what was done to get us this far.

This week on Monday Night Raw, The Rock made a surprise appearance and teased a match with Roman Reigns. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Reigns’ “Head Of The Table” and “Tribal Chief” monikers, which he has used for multiple years, were introduced for the plan of an eventual match with Rock. The match had previously been hopeful for WrestleMania 38 and 39 but never took place. There is nothing confirmed thus far and no word on where the match might take place, if it does at all.

Opinion: After that kind of a tease, it is hard to imagine that the match doesn’t take place in some way. The tease was too strong to just not have the match and WWE would be leaving anyone else out there in the lurch. Rock vs. Reigns would be one of the biggest matches imaginable for this generation and if we don’t see it in the next few months, I’m not sure we ever will.
